Shirley Carnegie was the PR Manager for a large London council for ten years. While working at senior level for one of the UK's most prominent local authorities, Shirley gained a working knowledge of local government PR and media relations.
In 1996, Shirley set up her own PR Consultancy. Since then, she has worked with leading public and private sector organisations to deliver plain English training and editing services.
The demand for plain English prompted SCPR to launch the Gold Star Award, which is the only plain English award specifically designed to meet the needs of the public sector.
